Michael J. Choutka, Executive Vice President and Southern Division Manager, Hensel Phelps Construction Co. Mike Choutka, a graduate of the University of Nebraska, began his career with Hensel Phelps in 1991 and rose through the ranks to become the vice president and Southeast District manager in 2005. Promoted to Executive Vice President and Southern Division Manager in 2008, Mr. Choutka has responsibility for the management and coordination of Hensel Phelps’ Southeast and Southwest Districts in Orlando, Florida, and Austin, Texas, respectively. As Executive Vice President, he establishes policies and strategies that allow for the growth of the firm, while ensuring the company maintains the high levels of safety, quality and service it has become known for throughout the United States. Mr. Choutka is a major stockholder of Hensel Phelps Construction Co., an employee-owned company. Founded in 1937, Hensel Phelps builds a diverse range of project types, including new construction and renovation of commercial office, airport, distribution and industrial, correctional, public assembly, sports, health care, educational, institutional, mixed use, retail, hospitality, mass transportation, entertainment, microelectronics, research and development, and laboratory facilities.
