ACE Mentor Program

Oregon

Founded in Portland in 2006, ACE’s Oregon affiliate gives high school students an exciting and informative way to learn about career possibilities in architecture, engineering and construction. During the affiliate’s 12-15 after-school meetings, students work in collaborative teams under the mentorship of experienced professionals from local building industry firms.

The teams tour construction sites, visit professional offices and work on projects that simulate real-life situations. Activities like these help students better understand what people in the building industry do and what kinds of career options the industry offers.

In addition, ACE Portland awards scholarships worth from $1,000 to $4,000 to students who decide to pursue a post-high-school course of study leading to a career in the industry.
