Based in Chicago, ACE’s Illinois affiliate works with 39 local public high schools to encourage interested young people to pursue careers in architecture, construction and engineering. During the affiliate’s 2008-2009 year, volunteers from local industry professional firms mentored 171 students as they engaged in a full range of learning activities from construction site visits to creative “hands-on” projects.

An ACE “Affiliate of the Year,” ACE Chicago also provides scholarships and internships for students who pursue a course of study leading to a career in the building industry. Since its founding, the affiliate has awarded scholarships valued at $523,000.
