Also new to the board – Justin Petersburg with Esterly Schneider & Associates, Ryan Lane with Performance Contracting, Brian Hauff with Evangel University and Kate Kensinger with Springfield Public Schools! We are accepting new school sites for student teams. Make sure to ask your administration to contact us right away!

Our 2018-2019 Program

We are closing out our 2018-2019 program year on April 8th at our end of year project presentation event. Thank you to all the firms that supported us, all the mentors that worked with our students, all our parents that supported their student and all the board members that worked diligently to ensure we had a successful experience. Make sure to check out our Groundbreaking 2019 photos later this spring and watch for our next registration window August 1st!

2019 is in full swing!

The last half of our year has officially begun. Teams met this week to start finalizing project plan ideas and start working on models and material for their presentation event on April 8th. Introduction to Construction is our next office visit. We look forward to exposing the students to schedules, bids and site construction. Continue to watch our Facebook page as we announce in early February the project location for our first ever site visit!

Student Registration is now open
for the 2018-2019 school year!

Returning students need to re-register and select this program year. New students need to create an account and complete the registration process. Don’t miss out on the second year of our program!

Mentor Registration is now open
for the 2018-2019 school year!

Our annual mentor training event will be hosted at the end of August – all mentors need to be registered and attend in order to participate. Contact Jennifer Luce our Mentor Chair for additional information. All mentors must complete a background check prior to our Kick Off Event in September. If you are a returning mentor, your background check is still good, you need to simply log into your account and update your registration with this program year.

Groundbreaking 2018 was a hit!

We had a wonderful turnout for our end of year project presentation event. Thank you to all our sponsoring firms The Builder’s Association, Branco Enterprises, Paragon Architecture, Buxton Kubik Dodd Design Collective, ESC Consulting Engineers and the Springfield Contractors Association. We also need to thank all of our mentors and students who worked so hard thru the year – without them, we would have had no reason to gather and celebrate. Check out all the pictures on our photo tab and make sure to attend next year!

High school students in Springfield and the Ozarks area can now benefit from a nationwide program designed to introduce them to the wide range of career opportunities open to young people in architecture, construction, engineering, and related areas of the building design and construction industry.

At weekly meetings, student teams work directly with professionals from leading area firms, who volunteer their time to mentor the teams as they design hypothetical projects, tour local construction sites, and visit architectural, engineering and construction offices.

For students, it’s a unique chance to discover and develop new skills, solidify future goals and get on track to exciting, rewarding careers. In addition, many students form positive relationships with industry professionals who can provide important references for obtaining college admissions, scholarships, internships and full-time.
