ACE Annapolis also held its’ Annual Reception and Networking Event on May 17th at St. John’s College Boat House in Annapolis. Our Guest speaker, Stephen T. Ayers, Architect of the Capitol, spoke to attendees about his work as Architect of the Capitol and how ACE students can make an impact on the industry in the future. Through the generous donations from our sponsors 17 students were awarded scholarships totaling $8900. Congratulations to all our scholarship winners from Arundel, North County, and Severna Park high schools.
The program is broken up into a fall and spring session which meets once per week from 2:30 to 4 pm on Tuesday or Wednesday. The students work on design projects that teach them key principles and techniques used in the design and construction industry through hands on projects and field trips to project sites. Students can also earn scholarship awards towards a degree in an ACE related field.
