Since 2002, the ACE Mentor Program of Tennessee has introduced hundreds of young people from public and private high schools to the many rewarding career opportunities available to them in the building industry.
The program organizes students into teams that work on challenging design projects under the guidance of professionals from leading area architectural, engineering and construction firms. These mentors take students to visit their firms and lead guided tours of active local construction sites. They also teach them how to use some of the same advanced tools and technologies employed by industry professionals everyday.
By the end of the year, many students have learned valuable new skills and made professional contacts that can help them with college admissions, scholarships and summer internships, while also providing lifelong career guidance.
In addition, students can win scholarships and honors in competitions sponsored by ACE’s national organization.
