Ellie L. Stanoch, P.E.

Indianapolis, INs

Just two years out of engineering school, Ellie began mentoring with the Indianapolis affiliate during its first year in 2006.  Several years ago she became the leader of a team in a new school (her alma mater) and has grown that to include students from several schools.  After she was laid off several years ago during the economic downturn, mentoring for ACE became an even greater priority in her life, next to balancing the demands of a young family and occasional part-time work.  Ellie excites students about the design and construction industry and also counsels them about college and career choices, even after they finish ACE.  She instituted a wrap-up session after the final banquet and presentations so that mentors and students can bring closure to their year together. Now all Indianapolis teams follow this practice.
