New Promotional Brochures Available

ACE has created a suite of three brochures demonstrating the program’s impact on the architecture, engineering and construction industry workforces.  These attractively designed, four-page brochures draw on compelling results from ACE’s recent student, mentor, and alumni surveys.

Among other uses, affiliates can share the brochures with current and potential sponsors in the different A-E-C fields.  ACE Advances Architecture Workforce and ACE Expands Engineering Workforce are available in three formats – one suitable for emailing, another for printing on a copier (11x17 paper), and the third for professional printing.  The digital files can be found on the Literature tab on the ACE website.

The third brochure about ACE’s impact on the construction industry workforce will be available later in March.

Chicago Wins Second “Making the Future” Grant
Cognizant Technology Solutions has awarded the Chicago affiliate $20,000 for its 2018 summer Design Build Workshop. Three years ago, the workshop received similar support.
Cognizant’s Making the Future education initiative supports after-school and summer programs throughout the U.S. that unleash young people's passion for STEM disciplines by creating fun, hands-on learning opportunities. Other ACE affiliates may want to investigate this opportunity when applications open next fall.
Rhode Island Affiliate Dreamed Big
Late last year, the Rhode Island affiliate organized and sponsored a screening of Dream Big: Engineering Our World for students and their families plus industry professionals. Following the film, a panel of mentors from different disciplines took questions from the audience of 120 people.  The affiliate provided free admission as well as complimentary popcorn and soft drinks.
Co-produced by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Dream Big celebrates the human ingenuity behind several ancient and modern engineering marvels. Affiliates wanting to follow Rhode Island’s lead can learn how here.
ASCE is offering all high schools across the country a free DVD of the film plus a learning guide.  Affiliates can easily arrange for their partner schools to receive this educational package this fall.

And the Winner Is . . . an ACE Mentor!
