As a FTA project she was also exposed to the political side of construction between local government / taxpayer organizations, federal employees, and organizations. Makenzie was able to see a side of the process that many do not get the opportunity to learn!

My time here with Prime AE has been an incredible learning opportunity about mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering (MEP). While I plan to study biomedical engineering at The University of Akron, it was nice to be able to see the other types of engineering.

ODOT District 4 hosted 2 ACE students for a total of 80 hours over 2 weeks. Throughout their time here they were able to get a full picture of what we do here at ODOT on the Capital side as part of our daily operations.

Did you know ANY high school student can participate in our FREE mentor program VIRTUALLY? A’Nyia Jones has participated virtually for the past two years and was able to take part in the ACE Summer Experience as well where she was paid $20/hour for 80 hours while learning industry related skills.

In a recent interview with Melissa, she was asked what set her apart from her college peers after her participation in the ACE Mentor Program. Melissa shared how her stipend Summer Experience definitely set her apart. Going into college as a Freshman with work experience helped Melissa obtain her current internship with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.
