Mark Whitson loves a good challenge and is passionate about helping others make the seemingly impossible possible. Serving as DPR Construction’s President and member of the Leadership Team and Board of Directors, Mark enjoys working with high-performing teams and finding creative solutions that create lasting value for customers, employees, communities and the broader industry.

Mark discovered the joys of building and learning the value of hard work early on when he spent time on his grandfather’s farm. After graduating from Purdue University, he joined DPR and worked as a laborer on a self-perform work (SPW) crew. That formative field experience shaped his perspective and gave him a deeper appreciation for the skill, discipline and teamwork required to bring complex projects to life.

Building his career at DPR through a variety of technical projects and leadership roles in the Southeast, Mark now focuses on strengthening integration across DPR, advancing the way the company builds and supporting the overall business to deliver technically complex and sustainable projects for some of the most progressive and admired companies in the advanced technology, healthcare, higher education, life science and commercial markets.

As a Board member of the ACE Mentor Program of America, Mark brings a long-standing commitment to mentorship, workforce development and creating broader pathways into construction. His ongoing engagement through college recruiting and industry efforts to elevate mentoring aligns with ACE’s mission to engage, excite and support students pursuing careers in architecture, construction and engineering.
