Octavio Gutiérrez, ACE Mentor Program of Oregon

Our next honoree exemplifies mentorship rooted in understanding, equity, and personal connection. For eight years, Octavio Gutiérrez has served ACE Oregon as a mentor, team captain, and board leader, bringing both professional expertise and lived experience to every relationship he builds. As a first‑generation college graduate and bilingual mentor, Octavio intentionally works to remove barriers for students and families, ensuring they feel seen, supported, and empowered. Whether guiding students toward internships and scholarships, mentoring ACE alumni, or leading at the board level, Octavio leads with humility, consistency, and compassion. His students describe him as someone who helps them find confidence, purpose, and belief in their own potential.
