Doug Nunnelly knows very well about the benefits of ACE. Today, he is the owner of F.A. Nunnelly, a general contractor in San Antonio, TX. Doug has served on the San Antonio Affiliate Board for almost a decade and has been a mentor for the last five. Among his many contributions to the program, he established a Construction Day for students at East Central High School, a rural school with students that face many socio-economic challenges. That program, which allows students to operate full scale construction equipment, has expanded to an annual event for all high schools in the San Antonio affiliate. He has mentored well over 100 students at this school, opening doors professional careers and in the trades. One of his mentees summed up Doug’s commitment with these words: “He taught me what it was going to take to be a woman in STEM and in the construction industry, he helped break my shell and become the student I am today.”
